Hoover WH20100 Twin Tank Handheld Steam Cleaner

When I first saw the Hoover WH20100 Twin Tank Handheld Steam Cleaner, I couldn’t tell if it was a hoover steam cleaner or a flower watering can. Sure, I’m being a little facetious, but it does kind of look like a watering can. Fortunately, it had a lot more going for it than its odd look.

This machine was approximately 10.25-inches high, 8-inches wide and weighed around about 3.4 pounds – which makes it pretty portable, compact and lightweight. It also came with a number of accessories which included a detail cleaning wand, a quick-connect hose, a corner & grout tool, a turbo nozzle extension, a window squeegee, a scraping tool, a garment steamer cloth, a garment steaming tool and a couple of nylon scrub brushes. All in all, a pretty good assortment of tools to get a few jobs done around the house.

After filling the unit with about 10-ounces of water and waiting for it to heat-up – which took about 5 minutes or so – I was ready to use the product. One of the first things I noticed about it was that it really did produce some hot steam. In fact, the steam was so hot that it deformed one of my nylon scrub brushes and it did it after a short period of time – which seems to me kind of is a design flaw. After all, your attachments should be able to hold up to the steam your unit is producing. With the second brush, I was a little more careful and didn’t blast the steam so much and the brush seemed to hold up better. So if you get this unit, just be a little mindful of how you use it.

I took this unit around the house and cleaned a multitude of things with it. I cleaned my stove, my kitchen tiles, spot cleaned my couch and even cleaned some grout. With all of those things, it did a marvelous job. Just be careful with older grout because this machine will remove it with its powerful steam blasts, so just be careful. Using this hand-held steamer, I got about 15-minutes of continuous steam cleaning out of it. Not the best I’ve seen but not too terribly bad for a unit this size.

Overall, I think this is a good hand-held steamer that produces super-hot steam. The only two problems I had with it were the durability of its accessories and its price-tag. This unit is a more expensive than a lot of comparable hand-held steamers on the market today.
