While I was looking over carpet shampooer reviews, I came across the Hoover FH50150 Power Scrub Deluxe. It seemed to be a well-liked carpet cleaner, so I decided to order myself one and see if it was the best carpet shampooer that I could find on the market today or if it was just all hype. Here is what I discovered about it.
The first thing that I liked about it was that it wasn’t a big, giant machine. In fact, it was only about 20 pounds or so, which really made it a whole lot easier to move around the house. I also liked the fact that it was designed to have 4 handles. Yes, you read that correctly – it has four of them. Why so many? Well, it has so many of them to make it easier to carry. You can decide which handles to grab to take it up the stairs or into another room. I thought that was pretty neat.
I also initially liked the fact that this unit had an 8-foot hose with upholstery tool for cleaning carpets or stairs. However, there were a few things about the hose that could’ve been better. For example, I discovered that I had quite a bit of difficulty hooking the hose up. I also noticed that it really didn’t have as much suction as I had hoped. While it certainly isn’t a deal breaker, I really wish the hose had worked a little bit better. I’m also not a big fan of the water tank. I felt that it was too small and it seemed like I had to fill it up way too much, or at least more than I would’ve liked.
As far as cleaning power, I thought this carpet cleaner did a great job. Its 360-degree cleaning brushes really do a good job on carpets and when the unit is done, the carpets are left fairly dry. It really did a great job at doing its job.
Overall, I think this is a good carpet cleaner, despite having an upholstery tool and hose that doesn’t work as well as it should have worked. It’s a good little carpet cleaner, it’s just not without its flaws.
