When I first saw Chemical Guys Fabric Clean Carpet and Upholstery Shampoo, I didn’t know what to think about it. It was a big gallon bottle that had the company’s name on the label along with a big skull. The addition of the skull made me wonder if I had just purchased the world’s deadliest poison or carpet cleaner. I know that you’ll be relieved to know that it was the latter and not the former.
In fact, it was a pretty decent cleaner that was concentrated so you didn’t have to use a whole lot of it and had a surprisingly pleasant smell. I guess from the looks of the label I was expecting it to have a chemical smell to it but fortunately, that proved not to be the case.
According to its label, you are supposed to dilute this produce 20 to 1 – or twenty parts water to one part cleaner – but it didn’t work so well for me, so I had to adjust the solution to a 10 to 1 mixture. And even then, it only did an okay job. It didn’t do anything spectacular. Sure, it handled lighter stains and cleaning, but for harder tasks, it just couldn’t compete.
All in all, I think this is a decent product for light cleaning but wouldn’t be my first choice for heavier cleaning. It’s pretty much just an average cleaner.
