Bissell 1940 Powerfresh Steam Mop Review

If there was one thing that I knew about the Bissell 1940 Powerfresh Steam Mop before I decided to try it, it was the fact that it was one of the more popular steam mops out there. Which isn’t surprising, because it’s also one of the ones with some the best reviews. Now, I don’t know which came first, it’s popularity or its reviews, but I do know that I had to try one out as soon as I could. I had to really see if these were one of the top models currently out there.

There were a few things that really caught my attention when I finally did get my hands on it. The first thing I noticed was that it was really easy-to-assemble. Armed with only a screwdriver, I was able to put all of the pieces together and be ready to clean in just a matter of minutes. The next thing that I noticed about it was that it had a low profile, so I was pretty confident it would help me get some reach under some of my cabinetry without having to do too much bending.

I filled it up with water and went to work. It did a great job at handling both my sealed hardwood and linoleum floors, and also did a pretty good job of cleaning my tile floors as well. I could sanitize the floors without having to use any commercial cleaners whatsoever, which was a really important point for me. If I wanted that cleaner scent, however, I could pop in a Fabreeze scent disc and it would give a nice scent to my floors. A scent that often wafted throughout the entire house.

While I was using this model of steam mop, I only really came across two issues that I didn’t like. One, the power cord was a lot shorter than I would’ve liked and it would’ve been more convenient if they had made it longer. And two, if you do a lot of sanitizing in one particular area, then this model could end up leaving streaks. All things considered, however, I would have to say that I liked the Bissell 1940 Powerfresh. It’s easy-to-assemble and use and is lightweight. All of which are good reasons why it’s so popular nowadays.
